Patient and public involvement and participatory research approaches in academic primary care

The aim of the group is to discuss and critically reflect on PPI and participatory approaches, develop innovative approaches to increasing stakeholder involvement in Academic Primary Care (APC).


  • Identify and create opportunities for shared learning among researchers and other organizations with an interest in participatory approaches to research and PPI both nationally and internationally
  • Support individuals to have greater involvement in research (including members of the public, clinicians, voluntary groups, academics and policy makers)
  • Develop new research capacity and opportunities
  • Identify, and make links, with international participatory researchers, organizations and individuals.
