2018 call for abstracts
Abstract submission deadline 18th February 2018
Queen Mary University of London is hosting the annual SAPC conference, which showcases the latest research and education in academic primary care and provides an opportunity to share methodological developments.
You can share your work through:
- oral presentations and posters
- symposia (collections of papers, organised around a theme and including discussion)
- interactive workshops
- creative enquiry presentations (new for 2018, exploring ‘Caritas’ through creative or artistic media)
- Doctoral Masterclass (for discussion of doctoral research projects)
Go to the abstract submission page for the submission forms and review criteria.
The Scientific Committee is particularly keen to receive abstracts outlining research, education and policy which speak to our conference themes: Learning from Europe and Populations on the Move. We also want to showcase the academic work of our international primary care colleagues in Europe and beyond. In the selection of abstracts, preference will be given to those which focus on our two overarching conference themes (e.g. migration; displacement; homelessness; delivering cross-cultural primary care; international comparisons of primary care delivery) or which highlight primary care as expert generalism (e.g. complexity in practice; delivering ‘whole person’ care). These areas are particularly relevant in the context of shifting demographics and an increasingly diverse population in which attention to aspects of care beyond the ‘biomedical’ may be especially important. Linked to this complexity is a need for novel methodological approaches and we welcome contributions which focus on methodological challenges and developments. We will also consider abstract submissions which stretch the full breadth of primary care.
We hope that you will come and join us in July 2018 to enjoy the conference and take the opportunity to explore London.
