Annual Report 2024
Activities
Primary Care Mental Health conference May 2024 – in person, organised by Keele. Abstract booklet produced with DOIs, and an introduction written by Carolyn. Twitter/Bluesky activity around mental health awareness week and world mental health day. Regular quarterly meetings online with all members (current membership = 52)
Future Plans
Continue regular online meetings with members – offering opportunities for ECRs to present; offering support and networking. Primary Care MH conference (in-person) May 2025 led by Edgehill SIG Meeting at SAPC ASM 2025 (Cardiff)
Evidence of impact of the SIG
Increasing membership. Members say they value the opportunity to present informally at SIG meetings and receive feedback and support from peers. Members e-introducing colleagues working in common areas. Members signposting others to articles, mental health conferences and the SPCR workshops. Individuals identifying collaborators to work on research grant applications.
Outcomes from SIG meeting at last SAPC ASM
We decided not to hold a SIG Meeting at SAPC ASM 2024 (Bristol) as the only conference slot available was early morning and having emailed members of the group, the general consensus was that attendance would be low. Instead, SIG members caught up with other members during the social events, and both Carolyn and Katrina were available to members throughout the duration of the conference.
How affiliation with SAPC has helped the SIG
Support for Primary Care MH conferences. Disseminating information to all SAPC members about the group and future meetings.
