SAPC ASM 2014 - Edinburgh - Meeting global challenges
43rd annual scientific meeting
We are delighted to be hosting the 43rd annual conference of the Society for Academic Primary Care at the University of Edinburgh in July 2014. Edinburgh is Scotland’s capital but also a truly international city with a rich academic and medical heritage. The theme for our 2014 meeting is ‘Meeting Global Challenges’ and the conference will be an opportunity to explore the many diverse challenges facing primary care practitioners, researchers and educators in the UK and around the world.
As part of the conference we are honoured to host the inaugural Helen Lester Memorial Lecture a public lecture given by Professor Debbie Sharp and entitled "Motherhood and Mental Illness – thirty years of families in South London".
Elevator pitches are a new concept for SAPC and we hope they will provide a dynamic way for new ideas and work in progress to be discussed. They challenge presenters to convey messages in a condensed form, and are a lively and fun way to share ideas.
Also new this year we will be welcoming Special Interest Group meetings into the body of the programme. No more bleary eyed breakfast meetings!

The University of Edinburgh (abbreviated as Edin. in post-nominals), founded in 1582, is the sixth-oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland's ancient universities. The university is deeply embedded in the fabric of the city, with many of the buildings in the historic Old Town belonging to the university. –Wikipedia
