Tom is the Chief Operating Officer of parkrun Global, a UK-based charity enabling communities around the world to deliver free, weekly, timed, 5k and 2k events, where people can walk, run, or volunteer. In 2007, when working as a lecturer in Sport & Exercise Science at the University of Leeds, Tom helped start Woodhouse Moor parkrun, at that time the fourth parkrun event and the first outside London. In 2011 he left the University to work full-time for parkrun and now leads on all aspects of operations, across 2,000+ weekly events in 21 countries, engaging over one-million participants per month.
