Annual Report 2024
Activities
This is our second year of the MLTC SIG. We continued to have SIG seminars in the first half of 2024 with presentations from Harm Van Marwijk, Kieran Sweeny and Cara Bezzina, these were attended by 8 10people. We held an annual meeting at the SAPC conference in July, led by Bhautesh, which was attended by 12 SIG members.
Future Plans
To restart lunchtime seminars and to continue the SIG as a networking forum, providing a multidisciplinary platform for people working in the field of MLTCs.
Evidence of impact of the SIG
Members have commented on the usefulness of networking and meeting colleagues working in the field of MLTCs but we have not measured impact per se. It would be interesting to know more about how other SIGs have done this.
Outcomes from SIG meeting at the last SAPC ASM
Discussions focused on the development of complex interventions for MLTCs and how best to evaluate them. There was support for continuing the SIG.
How affiliation with SAPC has helped the SIG
It has helped to raise awareness amongst UK primary care researchers and particularly early career researchers. We also lead the NAPCRG SIG on multimorbidity and International Research Community on Multimorbidity, linking networking across these national and international roles.
