SAPC-HODS launch new Future Leaders initiative - applications now invited

SAPC-HODS have launched a new Future Leaders initiative.

The scheme is designed to support colleagues transitioning from middle career to senior grade roles by offering practical experience of leadership roles and activities. Future Leaders will lead the development and delivery of a series of projects identified and prioritised by the HODS group as crucial in the development of our discipline. Colleagues will be mentored by senior primary care colleagues from within SAPC and RCGP.

The first project in the programme will tackle the issue of Valuing and Celebrating Diversity across the academic primary care community. We look to appoint two Future Leaders for this work - one PHOCUS member and one GP. SAPC members at Senior Lecturer or equivalent, employed within one of SAPC member departments, are eligible to apply.

Full details of the programme, the first project, and how to apply can be found here.

Application is by CV and cover letter, with a closing date of June 21st 2021. We anticipate holding interviews over the two days of the SAPC annual conference (June 30th/July 1st) – alternative dates will be arranged for those unable to attend.

For further details and informal discussion of the role, please contact Joanne Reeve (HODS Chair) or Judith Ibison (HODS secretary).
