Brian is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Oxford, an NHS GP, and Co-Director of the NIHR Cancer Awareness, Screening, and Early Diagnosis Policy Research Unit (PRU). His research portfolio spans the full translational pathway of cancer diagnostics, from initial test development and validation through to clinical pathway implementation. He leads a multidisciplinary research group comprising experts in health data science, community engagement, implementation science, knowledge mobilisation, and prospective clinical studies. Brian led the SYMPLIFY study evaluating GRAIL’s multi-cancer detection test in symptomatic patients, and currently leads the Accelerated community Multi-cancer Diagnostic Evaluation (ARMADILO) platform evaluating multiple tests in primary care.
