Colin McCowan has been Professor in Health Data Science since January 2019 at the University of St Andrews. He has over 30 years expertise of using routinely collected clinical data for clinical epidemiology and in the support of trials and other research methods spanning conditions including multimorbidity, end of life care, cancer, healthcare acquired infections, cardiovascular disease and care of the elderly. He is a Research Representative for the Health & Social Care Public Benefits and Privacy Panel, and has sat on MRC, NIHR, CSO and other National and International funding panels. He is a Director of the Multimorbidity Doctoral Training Programme for Healthcare Professionals funded by the Wellcome Trust and others, and is an experienced postgraduate supervisor.
