Dr Margaret McCartney

Dr Margaret McCartney is a GP in Glasgow and a Senior Clinical Lecturer in General Practice at the University of St Andrews.

Margaret is also a writer and broadcaster, and writes regularly for the medical and lay press. Margaret is an advocate for evidence-based healthcare. She co-founded the Royal College of General Practitioners group on overdiagnosis, has campaigned about the need for transparency about the risks and benefits of health screening, and her PhD was about conflicts of interest in healthcare.
