NIHR are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to participate in NIHR Research for Patient Benefit (RfPB) Programme Regional Advisory Panels (RAPs). These appointments offer clinicians and senior applied health researchers the chance to take part in and gain experience of making recommendations to NIHR to fund high quality researcher-led projects for the benefit of patients and the NHS.
RfPB is a regionally-based, responsive mode programme that makes awards of up to £350,000 for projects of up to three years in length. Since the programme was established in 2006, thirty competitions have been completed leading to over 700 awards worth over £100 million in total. Projects are undertaken by collaborative research groups based in England, with co-applicants from the NHS and academia working together. The research funded through RfPB is applied and relatively ‘near-term’, with an expectation of clear benefits to patients and the NHS. Further information on the RfPB programme can be found here.
NIHR are seeking to appoint new members to our RAPs. The Panels recruit on an on-going basis and applications are accepted all year round.
Within the North West region we are particularly looking to recruit to the Panel GPs and Primary Care expertise. For details and how to apply download the Invitation to apply for Regional Advisory Panel membership here.
