The SAPC Annual General Meeting was held on Thursday 12th July in London.

As a society that reflects many of our own interests, both in health topics and research methods, we would like to draw your attention to this year's Annual Scientific Meeting of the Society for Social Medicine.
The Society for Social Medicine Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) (the UK’s leading population health conference) will be taking place in Glasgow from 5th-7th September 2018. It is being organised by the University of Glasgow and the wider public health community in Glasgow. The 62nd ASM will be held at the Technology and Innovation Centre, George Street.
We are delighted that three SAPC members – Professor Trish Greenhalgh, Oxford; Professor Paul Little, Southampton; and Professor Tim Peters, Bristol – have all been selected to serve on REF Sub-panel 2 (Public Health, Health Services and Primary Care) and one SAPC member - Professor Frank Sullivan, on REF Sub-panel 1 (Clinical medicine). Taking this on represents an enormous amount of work, but is essential to support and promote academic primary care. Our congratulations and thanks to each of you.
Congratulations to Dr Andrew Carson-Stevens, Cardiff University, who is this year's winner of the Yvonne Carter award for outstanding new researcher awarded by RCGP and SAPC.

SAPC is pleased to share the news that the Journal of Comorbidity (JOC) is now indexed in PubMed Central (PMC), the US National Institutes of Health’s National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM) full-text, journal article repository. All of the journal’s content, dating back to its launch in 2011, is now available on PMC.
SAPC are delighted to announce that we have two new PHoCuS Leads – Professor Suzanne Richards and Dr Julia Hiscock. In January both are taking over from Professors Christine Bond and Sandra Eldridge, who have decided to stand down as our PHoCuS Leads.
The Australian Journal of Primary Health invites submissions of papers for publication in a special Issue in 2018 exploring the potential and the problems posed by PHC reform as an international movement to deliver better health outcomes. The edition marks the ten year anniversary of the World Health Organisation report, Primary Health Care - Now More Than Ever.
Submission deadline is October 30 2017.
The Special Issue will be published mid-2018 but papers will become available ‘Online Early’ immediately following acceptance and production. Articles may be up to 3000 words.
