Head of School of Postgraduate Studies & Research, Bahrain
RCSI Bahrain is seeking to appoint a Head of School of Postgraduate Studies & Research to lead and direct the successful delivery and the continuous improvement of the research agenda at RCSI Bahrain. In addition, the Head of School is responsible for the effective general management of the School, for ensuring the provision of academic leadership and strategic vision.
RCSI Bahrain is a medical university with three schools – a medical school, a school of nursing and a school of postgrad studies and research (SPGSR) . RCSI Bahrain is only 14 years old and the initial priority has been to establish teaching on a strong footing. The SPGSR is therefore still a small and less developed part of RCSI Bahrain. There are local challenges but also real opportunities. Bahrain is a great place to live with excellent schools and a great place to bring up internationally minded kids.
The successful candidate will be medically qualified with a doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, EdD). The candidate must demonstrate:
• A distinguished record of international level research, with a clear track record in research as evidenced by relevant publications in high impact international peer-reviewed journals and prior research grant funding that complements current RCSI research objectives.
• Proven track record of providing effective leadership in complex settings.
Informal enquiries are invited through Elaine Treadgold, Human Resources at RCSI Bahrain, (email: etreadgold@rcsi.com). Prof David Misselbrook, Associate Professor of Family Medicine, is also happy to informally discuss both the post and working for RCSI: DMisselbrook@rcsi-mub.com
Closing Date for Applications: Thursday, 17th January 2019
