The Centre for Integrated Health Care Research provides an academic interface for health care professionals. Our work is based on clinical research, particularly around the management of patients across the primary/secondary care interface. The Centre provides research training and mentoring and is funded to facilitate academic development to primary care professionals, particularly from the Durham locality. We work closely with NHS research bodies, and we have partnerships with Acute Trusts and Primary Care Trusts.

The overall aim of Population Health Sciences (PHS) is to improve population health.

We are committed to delivering research that makes a difference to people’s lives and has an impact.​

We do this through our research into the combination of social, environmental and biological risk factors and interventions for improving health, wellbeing and patient care.​

The Primary Care Unit is part of the Department of Public Health and Primary Care at the University of Cambridge, one of Europe’s premier university departments of population health sciences. 

Through our primary care research and teaching, we aim to identify and target the behaviours that lead to chronic disease; improve early detection of disease; improve the quality of health services; and deliver first class teaching to medical students, clinicians, researchers and educators.

The Centre for Academic Primary Care (CAPC) is one of the leading centres in the UK which form the NIHR School for Primary Care Research. Within the University of Bristol, CAPC is an integral part of the School of Social and Community Medicine, which is a internationally recognised centre of excellence for research and teaching in population health sciences.

At BSMS our Primary Care and Health Services Research activity brings together a wide range of disciplines to address clinical and healthcare challenges. These disciplines include general practice, public health, epidemiology, statistics, psychology and sociology.

Institute of Applied Health Research at Birmingham is one of the largest centres for academic primary care in Europe - focusing on applied and translational research under five main clinical programmes

Based in Whitechapel in the heart of London's east end, the Centre aims to deliver world leading research and education to inform and support local and global primary care and public health policy.

We are a research and teaching group that form part of the School of Healthcare Sciences, Bangor University. We aim to conduct high-quality primary care research that impacts upon clinical practice and health policy.

Aberdeen Academic Primary Care has an established reputation in several key areas of primary care research.  All teams conduct research that cuts across our three main themes.
