Widening participation in primary care research and education

• The conference will be free to SAPC members.
• We have two wonderful keynote speakers whose careers focus on widening participation in medical education and primary care research:
• Prof Scott Wilkes, Head of School of Medicine and Professor of General Practice and Primary Care, University of Sunderland
• Dr Shoba Dawson, Senior Research Fellow, University of Sheffield.

We hope that this online conference will offer the opportunity for people who might have caring responsibilities or difficulties travelling to be able to participate in our conference.

Call for Abstracts - SAPC North online conference - 20 November 2025 

We’re inviting submissions for: Widening participation in primary care research and education

Abstracts should clearly address the following structure:

  • What is the problem?
    Begin by outlining the issue or challenge your work addresses. Why is it important? What gap does it fill?
  • What we did
    Describe the approach, methodology, or intervention used to explore or solve the problem.
  • What we found
    Summarise the key findings or results of your work. 
  • What does it mean?
    Conclude with the implications or significance of your findings. How do they contribute to the field or inform future work?

Abstracts must be clear, concise, and no longer than 300 words. Submissions are due by Friday, 12th September 2025, and selected presenters will be notified by Tuesday 30th September 2025.
