Professor Victoria Tzortziou Brown, OBE, is Chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners Council and Professor of Primary Care and Health Policy. She has served as a GP in East London for over two decades, with a career spanning frontline general practice, health and social care systems, academia, and sustained engagement with local communities. Her work has consistently focused on innovation and system improvement. She brings together extensive clinical commissioning experience with a research portfolio. She has worked as Research and Innovation Lead for the North East London Integrated Care System, serving a population of around two million, and has collaborated with NHS, public health, academic, and voluntary sector partners to strengthen engagement in research and innovation. Professor Tzortziou Brown has held a number of senior leadership roles within the RCGP, including Vice Chair for External Affairs, Honorary Secretary, London Faculties Chair, and co-chair of the College’s Health Inequalities Standing Group. She is a Founding Senior Fellow of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management and has served as a Non-Executive Director at Turning Point. In her academic role at the Wolfson Institute of Population Health, Queen Mary University of London, she undertakes health policy and systems research, with particular expertise in the design and evaluation of healthcare interventions and their impact on professional behaviour and health inequalities. She also supervises GP Academic Clinical Fellows and early-career researchers in Global Health.
