Chester Beatty Library

Friday, 8 July 2016 - 2:30pm

This magnificent world-famous Library housed in a wonderful contemporary building located in the grounds of Dublin Castle.  This is a perfect opportunity to view this very special collection of mining engineer Sir Alfred Chester Beatty (1875–1968), bequeathed to the Irish State on his death. The Library's collections are displayed in two collections: "Sacred Traditions" and "Artistic Traditions". Both displays exhibit manuscripts, miniature paintings, prints, drawings, rare books and some decorative arts from the Islamic, East Asian and Western Collections.

Our hosts are offering you the chance to join a guided tour of the exhibits at 2.30 pm on Friday 8th July.  You may, of course, visit the Library at your leisure without a guide - entrance is free.
