Delegate Information – Scarman

Getting to campus:
The University of Warwick is situated four miles from Coventry City centre at the hub of the Midlands motorway network. The hours of 08:00 – 10:00 and 16:00 – 18:00 are peak times for traffic on campus and the surrounding roads, we therefore recommend allowing plenty of time for your journey to campus if travelling between these times.

• Scarman is situated on the main University campus.
• If using a sat nav use post code CV4 7SH which will bring you to Scarman Road and then follow signs for Scarman

Car Parking:
Complimentary car parking is available at Scarman and Radcliffe for delegates, please see the Warwick Conference campus map. You also have the option to use our what3words references to get more defined information on car parks across campus. At times, delegates may be re-directed to alternative car parks on the University Campus. Delegates will be required to register in advance on the link below and follow the instructions. • If you have particular car parking requirements (i.e minibus or high-sided vehicle), contact your event organiser in advance of your arrival.

Public Transport:
• Coventry Railway Station, approximately four miles from the campus, is the nearest main-line train station to the University. There is a taxi rank located at the Station and on Central Campus.
• There are regular bus services to the University Campus from Coventry City Centre and Coventry Railway Station, with the journey taking approximately 30 minutes. • Birmingham International Airport is approximately 20 minutes from Campus by car. There is a taxi rank at Birmingham International Airport. The railway station at Birmingham Airport is Birmingham International. During weekdays trains depart from Birmingham International to Coventry Rail Station on average every 10 minutes. The journey takes between 10-15 minutes.

Bedroom check in/out:
• Delegate check in is from 15:00. We ask that upon departure delegates vacate their bedroom by 10:00 (11:00 at the weekend) and settle any charges at reception.
• We operate a cashless payment system, and we accept all major credit or debit cards with Visa, MasterCard or American Express.
• Reception is manned 24 hours a day.
• There is a left luggage facility available, please ask the Reception Team for access

Accommodation:
• Our venues offer hotel-styled en-suite bedrooms and feature a study desk area, telephone, television, radio alarm clock, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, fresh towels, toiletries and an iron/ironing board and a daily cleaning service.
• Scarman and Radcliffe both have lifts to upper floors. If you have any accessibility requirements, then please inform your event organiser.
• Reception stock a small number of toiletries or you can purchase from Rootes Grocery Store on Central Campus.
• Laundry and dry-cleaning facilities are available on Central Campus.

Wi-Fi access across Central Campus:

Food and Drink:
• Breakfast is provided in the restaurant between the hours of 07.00 and 09.30 during weekdays and 10:00am at weekends.
• Please inform your event organiser prior to your arrival if you have a specific food allergy or a lifestyle dietary requirement (for example vegan, vegetarian, halal or kosher).
• Bar facilities are available in each location serving a selection of drinks and bar food. There are a selection of games available in the bar/lounge areas.
•  24-hours Room Service is available in Scarman and Radcliffe.

Shops and Cafés on Central Campus:
• The campus has a range of facilities available to all delegates, including shops, cafes and a barber shop. For information and opening times, please see https://warwick.ac.uk/services/retail/
• Please note that all outlets on campus are cashless.

Quiet Space and Games:
• We have quiet spaces which can be located in Space 54 in Scarman and two in Radcliffe, 1 by main reception and 1 near space 26. These spaces are available to delegates and are designed for prayer, meditation or quiet reflection. It is designed as a shared space, if you require a space on your own then please ask at Reception for a separate space.

Wellbeing:
• Guests have free access to:
o Walks and running routes – visit here for the various routes mapped out.
o Sculpture Trail – take a wander around the campus locating the various sculptures. You can download
a map of the sculptures here.
o Quiet rooms which are available in Radcliffe and Scarman – for information see note above.
o Cinemas available in Warwick Arts Centre for more information either call in and speak with
the Box Office or visit their website https://www.warwickartscentre.co.uk/
o A selection of games are available in the bar/lounge areas of Radcliffe and Scarman.

General Information:
• If you feel unwell during your stay, please contact Conference Reception who will ensure a message is given to your event organiser. We do not have a resident doctor available for conference delegates, but if you require first aid assistance, this can be administered via our 24-hour Community Safety Team. Alternatively, there is a Walk-In Medical Centre in Coventry – http://cityofcoventrynhshealthcarecentre.nhs.uk/
• If you have any lost property during or after the event, contact Reception by email: scarman@warwick.ac.uk or radcliffe@warwick.ac.uk. Items will be kept for a maximum of 2 weeks following your departure.
• A Chaplaincy is available to all University visitors. Further information can be found here: https://warwick.ac.uk/services/chaplaincy/. To gain access to the Chaplaincy, please ask at Reception.
• If you require post or parcels to be delivered to you during your stay, it is advisable to discuss your requirements with your event organiser, as specific delivery details are required to ensure your parcel / post is managed appropriately.
