What to do when a journalist calls…

This new workshop at SAPC ASM 2015 led by Jeremy Horwood, SAPC Communications Officer from Centre for Academic Primary Care (CAPC), University of Bristol and Nadya Anscombe, freelance journalist and Communications Officer for CAPC, aimed to provide practice advice and tips on how to work with journalist to best deliver research messages. The workshop explored what questions to ask when first approached by a journalist to help decide if to undertake an interview, how to best communicate complex subjects to a wider audience, advice on interview techniques to stay in control of the conversation and tips on how to avoid being misquoted. The workshop is one of a new set of SAPC resources developed to support championing a vision of Academic Primary Care.
